Job summary

Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Data Centre Manager to lead installation, integration, and connectivity projects across a portfolio of customer and infrastructure environments. This key leadership role oversees operational delivery across multiple projects and sites, while working closely with customers and internal stakeholders.

• Strong experience delivering installation and integration projects.
• Practical knowledge of connectivity, network infrastructure, structured cabling, telecommunications, wireless technologies, or related technologies.
• Good understanding of construction environments, site operations, and contractor management.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple projects or locations.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent planning, organisational, and resource-management capabilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and confidence making effective operational decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder and customer-management skills.
• Commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets and operational performance.
• Leadership style that promotes accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
• IOSH or NEBOSH, SMSTS, PRINCE2, APM/APMP, PMP, or Lean / Six Sigma qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
• A qualification or professional background in telecommunications, networking, engineering, construction, or a related technical discipline is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop operational teams to deliver against business objectives, KPIs, and SLAs.
• Oversee the planning and delivery of installation and integration projects from mobilisation through successful completion.
• Coordinate technical teams, construction teams, contractors, suppliers, and other delivery partners.
• Ensure projects are appropriately resourced and sites have the required people, materials, and equipment.
• Manage operational budgets, resources, and commercial performance.
• Work with engineers and technical specialists to resolve installation, integration, and connectivity challenges.
• Identify operational and project risks and ensure effective mitigation plans are implemented.
• Lead day-to-day operational performance, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a consistently high standard.
