Job summary

Skillmatch Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Operations Manager for a major UK facilities contractor. You will be the senior operational authority across multiple sites, leading teams, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality service, with uptime and safety as top priorities.

The role requires data centre or mission‑critical experience, strong governance and risk management, and the ability to coordinate multi‑discipline teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead teams, suppliers and stakeholders across multiple sites to deliver reliable service.
• Coordinate incident response, business continuity and service recovery activities.
• Maintain safety and regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage budgets and monitor supplier performance to ensure contract delivery.

Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for a Operations Manager to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.

As the Operatiosn Manager you will be the senior operational authority across multiple sites, leading teams, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver outstanding service in an environment where reliability, safety and uptime are paramount.

The Operations Manager will need:

• Significant experience leading operations within data centres, mission-critical facilities or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of engineering governance, operational resilience, risk management and compliance.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and facilities teams across multiple sites.
• A track record of delivering exceptional service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance.
• The ability to lead and coordinate incident response, business continuity and service recovery activities.
• Strong commercial awareness, including budget management, supplier performance and contract delivery.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, senior stakeholders and technical teams.
• A collaborative leadership style that inspires, develops and motivates others.

To be successful for this Operations Manager role you must have:

• Experience in data centre, critical infrastructure or high availability environments
• Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent.
• IOSH Managing Safely.
• NEBOSH Certificate (desirable).
• Professional registration or working towards chartership (desirable).
