Job summary

The National Trust in Swindon invites applications for Head of IT Operations (Cyber Security & Infrastructure). You will lead infrastructure, cloud, networks and security services, ensuring secure, resilient and high-performing technology for colleagues, volunteers and visitors.

You will shape technology strategy, manage major incidents, and drive continuous improvement while balancing budgets, supplier governance and a national hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Senior IT Operations leadership experience across infrastructure and cyber security.
• Proven track record delivering resilience and service improvement programmes.
• Experience managing major incidents and cyber security events.
• Experience leading outsourced and multi-supplier environments.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with budget governance.
• Ability to develop technology strategy and translate it into practical plans.
• Knowledge of cyber security frameworks such as NIST or ISO27001.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across infrastructure, cloud platforms, networks and cyber security operations.
• Develop and deliver infrastructure and cyber security strategies aligned with priorities.
• Drive operational excellence through service management and modern engineering approaches.
• Lead incident response and recovery activities with continuous improvement.
• Oversee budgets, investment plans and roadmaps while balancing risk and value.
