Job summary

Fuse Energy is a London-based energy startup seeking a hands-on IT Operations Engineer (2nd Line) to maintain a high-speed tech environment across offices, external sites and cloud presence.

You will administer Google Workspace, Iru, Revolut People, and Linear, and use AI tooling to automate manual IT tasks while owning hardware issues from laptops to AV and printers.

Qualifications

• Proven 2nd line IT experience in a SaaS-based environment.
• Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or similar.
• Experience supporting Windows and macOS end-user hardware.
• Strong debugging skills and willingness to pick up unfamiliar tasks.
• Bonus: AWS cloud experience or cloud certifications; networking or security certifications (e.g. CCNP, NSE) and related degree.

We're looking for a hands-on, technically skilled IT Operations Engineer (2nd Line) to keep Fuse running at full speed. You'll own the day-to-day technical environment across our office locations, ensuring our applications, infrastructure and end-user hardware operate reliably. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable owning issues end to end, from Google Workspace to automating repetitive tasks.

Requirements

• Proven 2nd line IT experience
• Experience working in a fast-moving SaaS-based IT environment
• Scripting ability in one or more languages (Python, Bash, etc.)
• Confident supporting end-user hardware (Windows/macOS)
• Good debugging skills and willingness to pick up unfamiliar tasks
• Bonus: AWS cloud experience or cloud certifications; strong grasp of core networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, Wi‑Fi); networking or security certifications (e.g. CCNP, Fortinet NSE); bachelor's degree in a related field
