Job Description:
IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator
Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hour week)
Location: Southampton office based

Purpose of the Role
Responsible for managing technology efficiently through tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with IT teams to ensure system components are properly managed.
- Designs and develops integrated solutions to meet business needs and improve Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems
- Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for projects to ensure cost-effective operations, making feasibility recommendations
- Develops expertise on current and emerging network & telecommunications technologies
- Communicates effectively about system operations and changes
- Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory standards
- Manages capacity, redundancy, and health of network & telecommunications systems
- Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded
- Follows standards and procedures proficiently
- Communicates effectively in team or departmental settings
- Aligns work with Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy, demonstrating enthusiasm for the company's success
- Mentors less experienced IT Administrators
- Provides reliable solutions through problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Plans and performs minor system upgrades
- Utilizes tools and scripting for efficient management
- Recommends component improvements and identifies system interdependencies
- Coordinates cross-team changes and participates in roadmap planning
- Organizes and leads meetings with IT users
- Adapts well to change and welcomes feedback for improvement
- Maintains appropriate security access levels
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business, or related field, or 2 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently
- Experience in implementing technology solutions successfully
- Strong communication skills in small team settings
- Demonstrates quality documentation and organizational skills
- Broad understanding of IT Infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice
