IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator
Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hour week)
Location: Southampton office based

Purpose of the Role
Responsible for managing technology efficiently through tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other IT parts to ensure system components are managed effectively.
- Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business needs or improve Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems
- Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for projects to ensure cost-effective operations, making feasibility assessments and recommendations
- Develops technical expertise on current and emerging network & telecommunications technologies
- Communicates effectively about system operations and changes
- Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements
- Manages capacity, redundancy, and health constraints of network & telecommunications systems
- Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded
- Uses standards and procedures proficiently
- Communicates effectively in large team or department settings
- Aligns with Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy, showing enthusiasm for Garmin’s success
- Mentors less experienced IT Administrators
- Provides reliable solutions using sound problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis
- Performs and plans minor system upgrades
- Uses tools and scripting for efficient technology management
- Makes component-level improvement recommendations
- Identifies interdependencies in system components
- Coordinates cross-team non-project changes
- Participates in system or application roadmap planning
- Leads meetings with IT system users
- Adapts well to change and values constructive feedback
- Monitors security access levels
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 2 years relevant experience, with a combination of education and experience
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently
- Experience in implementing technology solutions successfully
- Strong communication skills in a small team setting
- Quality documentation and organizational skills
- Deep understanding of IT Infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice
