Were seeking an experienced and proactiveIT Managerto oversee the performance and compliance of internal IT service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring that our business receive reliable, timely, and high-quality IT support.

As our IT Manager, youll lead the strategic development and day-to-day management of our IT infrastructure. Youll oversee our outsourced IT service provider, manage internal IT resources, and ensure our systems are secure, efficient, and future-ready.

Are you:

  • Experienced in managing an IT Team and/or outsourced IT managed service contract.

Do you have:

  • Proven experience in IT management, preferably within a charity or non-profit organisation.
  • An IT or Computer Science degree or 5 years equivalent experience in a related field.
Main duties of the job
  • Previous experience in managing a contract and performance against service level agreements. Additional experience working with third party managed service provides would be advantageous
  • Advanced experience in deploying, managing and optimising cloud based IT solutions (including Office 365, Azure and SharePoint).
  • Confident with managing projects and familiarity with project management tools and methodologies would be advantageous
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Prior line management experience and ability to influence for problem resolution

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the IT support contract with the managed service provider, requiring all service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Accountability for meeting the IT needs of internal stakeholders and act as key liaison between IT and internal departments, fostering a culture of accountability and service excellence.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of the charity's IT strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection policies and IT-related regulations.
  • Identify service delivery gaps and implement strategies for improvement.

Job Summary:

The IT Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and strategic development of the charity's IT services. This position involves managing an outsourced IT contract with a managed service provider (MSP) and collaborating with colleagues to provide an excellent well designed IT infrastructure and support.

The IT Manager will also be responsible for overseeing key performance indicators (KPIs), supporting IT development strategy, and horizon scanning for future technological advancements.

Responsibilities

Contract Management:

  • Oversee the IT support contract with the managed service provider (MSP) to ensure all service level agreements (SLAs) are met and hold them accountable for delivering high-quality IT services.
  • Monitor and manage KPIs to ensure optimal performance, identify service delivery gaps, and implement improvement strategies.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the MSP to monitor their ticket management performance and act as the point of escalation when required.
  • Manage support contracts for devolved IT systems across the organisation and ensure cost-effective compliance and use of software licences.
  • Draft, issue, and manage responses for IT-related tenders in conjunction with Directors, and support the development and implementation of the charity's IT strategy while ensuring compliance with data protection policies and IT-related regulations.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Act as a key liaison between IT and internal departments, fostering a culture of accountability and service excellence to ensure appropriate IT support is in place.
  • Promote new technology and new ways of working by ensuring employees use the latest tools and technology available.
  • Represent IT services at the EACH Operational Management Team and other internal meetings, keeping colleagues informed about issues and developments.

  • Manage budget for IT-related expenditure, ensuring costs are controlled within budget and applications for capital expenditure are made as required.
  • Oversee procurement of IT assets including PCs, laptops, mobile phones, and network switches.
  • Monitor invoices from the managed service provider, ensuring costs are charged appropriately and are cost-effective, including review of Azure and licensing provision costs and usage.
  • Oversee management of the IT asset register, including logging and reporting of hardware, software, and IT assets.
  • Ensure regular system checks and scheduled maintenance activities are completed to maintain IT infrastructure integrity and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Oversee management and maintenance of the charity's IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and that software and devices are patched and kept up to date.
