IT Infrastructure Manager

Up to £60,000 + Car Allowance

Your new role

As the IT Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the company's IT infrastructure and systems. This includes, but is not limited to, Windows Servers, Active Directory, Entra, Networks, and Firewalls.

You will support the infrastructure architecture by providing technical expertise, applying design principles and methodologies to ensure cost-effective and optimal use of resources and technology. You will evaluate and design solutions to meet business and customer requirements and help develop strategic directions. Ensuring infrastructure security in accordance with standards such as NIST, NCSC, CIS is essential. You will also ensure all systems are maintained, supported, and compliant with security certifications. Experience in a similar environment with circa 1000+ users is required.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement a strategic plan for IT infrastructure development aligned with business needs.
2. Identify opportunities to leverage technology for process and performance improvements.
3. Provide third-line support for infrastructure issues, managing internal and external resources for timely resolution.
4. Support the provision of business-specific solutions, ensuring adherence to standards for service and compliance.
5. Maintain infrastructure availability and support, including:

• Servers and operating systems
• Messaging systems (Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, Mail Filtering)
• Telephony and unified communications
• Networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Firewalls)
• Anti-Virus (Sophos)
• Backups (Arcserve)
• Databases (SQL)
• Printing and file storage
• Directory management
• Web filtering (Forcepoint)
• Service monitoring (PTRG)
• Office 365 and Microsoft Entra
• Cloud migrations

Experience needed

• Minimum 5 years' experience in similar roles.
• Experience working in an SME environment with circa 1000+ users.
• ITIL qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Relevant industry certifications such as MCSE.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with ISO27001:2022 standards.
• Experience with Windows Server cloud migrations.
