Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure leader to manage a substantial IT department, drive capacity planning and deliver a resilient infrastructure. You will lead technical teams, drive innovation and work with external partners to optimise technology investments in support of the council’s digital programme.

You will be responsible for guiding desktop and security services, communicating with senior leaders, and delivering reliable IT services for residents

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of IT service management principles and metrics.
• Experience leading a technical team in a large IT department.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and procurement activities.
• Effective communication with senior leaders and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate technical teams within a large IT and Digital function.
• Influence capacity planning and ensure a resilient, reliable IT infrastructure.
• Drive technical, innovative, and cultural change across the team.
• Collaborate with partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimise investments.
• Support the delivery of the council's digital programme and services.
