McLaren Automotive Ltd invites applications for a 12-month Industrial Placement in its IT & Digital Core Technology team at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking. You will gain hands-on experience across core technology platforms within a high-performance automotive environment and develop commercial awareness and confidence in a fast-paced tech function.

Qualifications

• Currently studying towards a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Data Analytics or related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and organisational abilities.
• Eager to learn about infrastructure, cloud services, cyber security and IT operations.

Responsibilities

• Embed in one of the core specialist IT teams for a year, contributing to key operational and strategic objectives.
• Support maintenance and enhancement of McLaren's core technology platforms and services.
• Gain exposure to IT Operations, Infrastructure, Cloud Technologies, Cyber Security and End User Computing.

What to Expect

We are recruiting for Industrial Placement Interns to join our fantastic Core Technology team within IT & Digital at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey. As an Intern, you will gain hands-on experience across the Core Technology team while developing your skills in a world-class, high-performance automotive environment. This is a 12-month full-time Industrial Placement designed to build your technical capabilities, commercial awareness, and confidence working across a fast-paced technology function.

What You’ll Do

During your Industrial Placement, you’ll spend the year embedded in one of our core specialist teams, gaining meaningful, project-based experience and contributing to key operational and strategic objectives.

• Support the teams responsible for maintaining and enhancing McLaren's core technology platforms and services.
• Gain exposure to areas such as IT Operations, Infrastructure, Cloud Technologies, Cyber Security and End User Computing.
• Assist with the monitoring, support and continuous improvement of business-critical systems and services.
• Help investigate technology issues, identify root causes and contribute to problem resolution activities.
• Support the delivery of technology projects that improve reliability, security and user experience.
• Participate in cyber security awareness, governance and compliance activities.
• Work with colleagues across IT & Digital to understand how technology enables business operations across Engineering, Manufacturing, Commercial and Corporate Functions.
• Assist with reporting, documentation and analysis of service performance, trends and operational metrics.
• Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency, automation and service delivery.
• Gain hands-on experience with modern workplace technologies, cloud platforms and enterprise IT services.
