Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is recruiting an IT Workshop Technician in Huntingdon to diagnose faults, repair IT hardware and test laptops, PCs, printers and POS systems. You will work hands-on in a busy workshop environment.

The role offers a temporary-to-permanent contract, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a starting hourly rate of £14.87. You should have hands-on repair experience and good problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an IT workshop environment essential.
• Experience repairing and fault-finding PCs, laptops and printers.
• Previous hardware break-fix experience.
• Experience working with point-of-sale/till equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good organisation and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing faults and carrying out hardware repairs.
• Repairing and testing laptops, PCs, desktops and workstations.
• Working with printers and point-of-sale equipment.
• Carrying out break-fix repairs and identifying root causes.
• Testing equipment to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Following workshop procedures and health & safety/ESD requirements.
• Accurately completing paperwork and updating internal systems.
• Managing your own workload and prioritising repairs effectively.
• Working to deadlines and agreed service levels.
• Liaising with senior engineers regarding priorities and workloads.
• Supporting colleagues by sharing knowledge and best practice.
