Job description

TEAM LEWIS wishes to appoint an IT Executive who thrives on challenges and enjoys working with eclectic end users in a fast-paced, changeable environment. This is a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day IT efficiency and being on hand support to the UK team.

At the heart of the business is the TEAM LEWIS Foundation, which was launched in January 2021 to respond to the challenges the COVID pandemic brought to communities and charitable organizations. Every member of TEAM LEWIS can nominate a local cause close to their heart to receive a cash donation, and in the past year TEAM LEWIS has donated almost $2 million to 445 causes around the world.

Purpose of the role

The IT Executive provides technical support to TEAM LEWIS employees, including desktop, audio/visual, and mobile computing/device support. Liaising with the global IT team to provide support cover and extra resources as required. Aptitude to multi-task, prioritize, and problem-solve rapidly across time zones and often out of hours whilst remaining professional and calm will be key to success.

Main responsibilities

IT support

  1. Provide technical consultancy to users in local offices regarding AV and presenting, printing options, network connectivity, and any other software package that may require special assistance.
  2. Act as senior escalation support when required.
  3. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair hardware issues on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  4. Take ownership of regional onboarding and leaver processes to ensure that hardware is sourced, IT inductions provided, and access terminated where necessary and all in line with security policies.
  5. Troubleshoot networking issues.
  6. Liaise with team members for purchase approval if needed and work with key suppliers.
  7. Manage and maintain security group-wide following best procedures and adhering to policies.

Projects

  1. Work with the global IT team, when requested, to implement large-scale IT projects and new office acquisitions.
  2. Liaise with your line manager to provide support cover during periods of absence or intense project work.
  3. Identify areas of development that can be implemented in future projects, be it support, hardware, software, or procedurally oriented.
  4. Manage key supplier/contractor relationships, including service reviews/assessments and commercial aspects.

Teamworking

  1. Ensure personal and deliverable objectives are met on an ongoing basis.
  2. Accurately report activity levels to manager and team.
  3. Escalate general IT requests to appropriate team members, acting as a first point of contact for enquiries.
  4. Work closely with line manager to maximize own strengths, improve weaknesses, and support individual and team career development.
  5. Suggest new ideas on how to improve processes and systems.
  6. Support with the training of other TEAM LEWIS employees where relevant.
  7. Ensure an understanding of the agency’s business, clients, and work, e.g., by attending taskforce meetings, regional and office meetings, training sessions, and by sitting with the non-IT teams.

General

  1. Run and support training sessions, with a view to maximizing opportunities to expand team skills.
  2. Take a proactive role in promoting the TEAM LEWIS brand, its work, identity, and values.
  3. Contribute and support the continuous improvement of systems, practices, and policies.

About you

  1. Working technical knowledge of basic networking, Mac OS X systems, current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
  2. Good written communication skills.
  3. Strong personal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills.
  4. Strong documentation skills.
  5. Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues, as required.
  6. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language to non-technical employees and end users.
  8. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  9. Strong customer service orientation.
  10. Enjoy working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  11. Strong knowledge of Mac OS, MS Office/MS 365 applications; Windows is a plus.
  12. Ability to support and diagnose network issues.
