Job summary

Escape in Edinburgh is seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join a busy MSP. This senior, hands-on role focuses on resolving escalated 2nd/3rd line issues across multiple client environments, with hybrid working and a salary of £36,000-£42,000 dependent on experience.

You will administer Microsoft 365, Azure and Intune, manage Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy, troubleshoot networks, and support virtualised environments (Hyper‑V/VMware).

Qualifications

• At least 3 years hands-on experience within an MSP.
• Strong 2nd/3rd line technical support and ownership of escalated issues.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration and Azure/Intune basics.
• Experience with Windows Server, AD and Group Policy; networking knowledge is essential.

Responsibilities

• Resolve escalated 2nd/3rd line technical issues.
• Take ownership of complex incidents through to resolution.
• Support and maintain multiple client environments.

• Support Exchange Online, Entra ID, SharePoint and OneDrive.

• Maintain physical and virtual servers.
• Troubleshoot backup and recovery issues.
• Assist with patching and security remediation.

Salary: £36,000 - 42,000 per year

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience within an MSP
• Strong 2nd/3rd line technical support experience
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Experience taking ownership of escalated technical issues
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience
• Experience with Intune, Active Directory and Group Policy
• Windows Server administration experience
• Good networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
• Experience with switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs and VPNs
• Hyper-V and/or VMware experience
• Backup and recovery experience
• A methodical approach to troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently without constant direction
• Strong client communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Based in Edinburgh or the surrounding area
• Microsoft certifications, particularly across Microsoft 365 and Azure, are desirable; practical hands-on experience is more important
• Experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure, UniFi, Linux, AWS, SAN/NAS, or PowerShell and scripting/automation is advantageous
