Job summary

Saffery LLP is seeking an IT Applications Analyst to be the subject-matter expert for our portfolio of business-critical applications. You will provide 2nd and 3rd line support, manage upgrades and integrations, and work with stakeholders to ensure systems are used effectively.

You'll work with SaaS platforms and Azure-hosted client/server applications, ensuring stability, performance and continual improvement under ITIL change and release processes.

Qualifications

• Experience providing 2nd/3rd line support for business-critical applications.
• Strong knowledge of SaaS and Azure-hosted apps.
• Familiarity with ITIL incident, problem and change management.
• Proficiency in SQL and log analysis helpful.
• Degree or equivalent in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own incidents, problems and service requests at 2nd/3rd line.
• Manage vendor escalations for SaaS and hosted apps.
• Monitor health, availability, performance, and security.
• Plan and test upgrades and patches.
• Maintain configurations, integrations and system docs.
• Collaborate on new system implementations.
• Support application rationalisation or optimisation.
• Run workshops and translate business needs into changes.
• Deliver user training when needed.
• Ensure IS policy compliance and participate in DR/BCP testing.

Job description

As an IT Applications Analyst, you will be the firm's subject-matter expert for our portfolio of business-critical applications. You will provide 2nd and 3rd line support, manage upgrades and enhancements, and work with business stakeholders to ensure our systems are used effectively. Our application estate comprises a mixture of SaaS platforms and Azure-hosted client/server applications, and you will play an integral role in ensuring their stability, performance and continual improvement following established ITIL change and release management processes.

The responsibilities Support & Operations

• Ownership of incidents, problems and service requests at 2nd/3rd line.
• Managing vendor escalations for SaaS and third-party hosted applications.
• Monitoring application health, availability, performance and security.

Application Lifecycle & Upgrades

• Planning, testing and implementing upgrades and patches.
• Maintaining configuration, integrations and system documentation.

Project Delivery

• Working with Project Managers and business SMEs on new system implementations.
• Supporting application rationalisation or optimisation initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Running workshops or discovery sessions.
• Translating business needs into functional or configuration changes.
• Communicating changes to users and delivering training where needed.

Governance & Security

• Ensuring compliance with IS policies and regulations (e.g., Cyber Essentials, GDPR).
• Participating in DR/BCP testing.

Experience & Qualifications

• Experience providing 2nd/3rd line support for business-critical applications in a professional services environment including document management and audit platforms.
• Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, client/server systems and Azure-hosted applications.
• Knowledge of ITIL-aligned processes (incident, problem and change).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and technical skills; experience with SQL, logs or API-based integrations is advantageous.
• Requires broad or specialised knowledge from advanced specialised training, work experience or a relevant degree or equivalent. May have an understanding of theoretical concepts and principles.
• Relevant experience within specific area of work in professional services or a partnership.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to be persuasive. May need the ability to coach and motivate others.
• Able to use judgement / experience to tackle issues and seek advice on more complex problems.
• Strong analytical skills, based on systems and models relevant to the field of work.
• Strong computer literacy and understanding of relevant software. Keeps up to date on all required training such as information security.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including communicating with technical and non-technical clients and staff at all organisational levels.
• High levels of commitment and ability to act when necessary.
• Team-focused mentality, understanding that the function must work collaboratively to drive success.
