Job summary

Saffery LLP is seeking an IT Applications Analyst to act as the subject-matter expert for our portfolio of business-critical applications. You will provide 2nd and 3rd line support, manage upgrades and work with stakeholders to ensure systems are used effectively.

You'll work with SaaS platforms and Azure-hosted client/server apps, ensuring stability, performance and continual improvement under ITIL change and release management processes. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience providing 2nd/3rd line support for business-critical applications in a professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of SaaS platforms, client/server systems and Azure-hosted applications.
• Knowledge of ITIL-aligned processes (incident, problem and change).
• Analytical, troubleshooting and technical skills; experience with SQL, logs or API integrations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of incidents, problems and service requests at 2nd/3rd line.
• Managing vendor escalations for SaaS and third-party hosted applications.
• Planning, testing and implementing upgrades and patches.
• Maintaining configuration, integrations and system documentation.
• Working with Project Managers and business SMEs on new system implementations.
• Supporting application rationalisation or optimisation initiatives.
• Running workshops or discovery sessions.
• Translating business needs into functional or configuration changes.
• Communicating changes to users and delivering training where needed.
• Ensuring compliance with IS policies and regulations (e.g., Cyber Essentials, GDPR).
• Participating in DR/BCP testing.

The role

As an IT Applications Analyst, you will be the firm's subject-matter expert for our portfolio of business-critical applications. You will provide 2nd and 3rd line support, manage upgrades and enhancements, and work with business stakeholders to ensure our systems are used effectively.

Our application estate comprises a mixture of SaaS platforms and Azure-hosted client/server applications, and you will play an integral role in ensuring their stability, performance and continual improvement following established ITIL change and release management processes.

The responsibilities

Support & Operations

• Ownership of incidents, problems and service requests at 2nd/3rd line.
• Managing vendor escalations for SaaS and third-party hosted applications.
• Monitoring application health, availability, performance and security.

Application Lifecycle & Upgrades

• Planning, testing and implementing upgrades and patches.
• Maintaining configuration, integrations and system documentation.

Project Delivery

• Working with Project Managers and business SMEs on new system implementations.
• Supporting application rationalisation or optimisation initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Running workshops or discovery sessions.
• Translating business needs into functional or configuration changes.
• Communicating changes to users and delivering training where needed.

Governance & Security

• Ensuring compliance with IS policies and regulations (e.g., Cyber Essentials, GDPR).
• Participating in DR/BCP testing.

You

• Experience providing 2nd/3rd line support for business-critical applications in a professional services environment including document management and audit platforms.
• Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, client/server systems and Azure-hosted applications.
• Knowledge of ITIL-aligned processes (incident, problem and change).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and technical skills; experience with SQL, logs or API-based integrations is advantageous.
• Requires broad or specialised knowledge from advanced specialised training, work experience or a relevant degree or equivalent. May have an understanding of theoretical concepts and principles.
• Relevant experience within specific area of work in professional services or a partnership.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to be persuasive. May need the ability to coach and motivate others.
• Able to use judgement / experience to tackle issues and seek advice on more complex problems.
• Strong analytical skills, based on systems and models relevant to the field of work.
• Strong computer literacy and understanding of relevant software. Keeps up to date on all required training such as information security.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including communicating with technical and non-technical clients and staff at all organisational levels.
• High levels of commitment and ability to act when necessary.
• Team-focused mentality, understanding that the function must work collaboratively to drive success.
• Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
