Job summary

Brightwork Limited is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Menstrie, Scotland, on a 5-month fixed-term contract to join the Packaging Technology Laboratory team. The role focuses on implementing and validating ISTA testing methodologies to ensure product safety and performance compliance.

You will operate transit simulation equipment, analyse shock logger data and support SOP development, installation, and calibration of lab instruments.

Qualifications

• Experience packaging testing for food and beverage materials.
• Knowledge of ISTA methodologies and safety standards.
• Experience operating transit simulation equipment in a lab environment.
• Strong data interpretation and reporting skills.
• Solid project management and organizational abilities.
• Degree in Packaging Technology, Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Implement and validate ISTA testing procedures.
• Complete ISTA-related training and accreditation where required.
• Operate and maintain transit simulation equipment.
• Deploy, monitor and analyse shock logger data.
• Support installation, commissioning and validation of lab testing equipment.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for testing workflows.
• Conduct packaging component testing and data analysis.
• Support laboratory health, safety and quality initiatives.
• Manage testing projects through to completion.
• Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
