Job summary

Ball Corporation in the United Kingdom seeks a Laboratory Specialist to support Customer Quality, Quality & Engineering Groups and Manufacturing Operations in investigating customer complaints, production issues and product testing.

The role involves evaluating new materials, developing test methods, and assisting with long-term projects for CTS and customer qualifications, while maintaining a safe laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Sciences or closely related discipline.
• Theoretical and practical experience gained through degree.
• Experience with laboratory analytical equipment such as ICP-OES, IC & IC Titration, EIS, FT-IR and SEM/EDX.
• Fluent in English.
• Exposure to electrochemical analysis techniques.
• Some relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Testing new products from customers for compatibility with our packaging to enable shelf-life determination.
• Investigative analysis and reporting of consumer complaints.
• Failure analysis and reporting.
• Evaluation of new materials for coating of cans and ends.
• Analysis and reporting to support development projects within the sector.
• Maintenance of a safe working environment within the laboratory and to comply with the safety guidelines set out.
• Development of test methods for specific tests.
• Supporting global engineering group projects / trials.
