Job Description:

Individuals in Issue Management are responsible for the coordination and comprehensive management of issues with key stakeholders, ensuring Citi achieves and maintains compliance and appropriately remediates findings from internal and external reviews as well as self-identified issues. This includes coordinating with key stakeholders to investigate control gaps or failures, develop corrective action plans, and provide robust challenge to enable stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions by addressing root causes and adopting enhanced discipline, including lessons learned for the timely closure of issues.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the coordination and comprehensive management of issues with key stakeholders.
  2. Support issue quality reviews ensuring compliance with Issue Management Policy, Standards, and Procedures.
  3. Facilitate Business / Function Quality Control engagement across the full lifecycle of high-impact issue remediations and key remediation programs.
  4. Maintain a robust tracking and reporting issue inventory, including issue quality metrics, to provide visibility on control gaps and issue quality control processes, highlighting risks and escalating concerns in a timely manner.
  5. Provide challenge enabling stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions to address root causes.
  6. Utilize analytics to assess issue remediation trends, identify key risks, and develop insights for process improvement.
  7. Support identification and analysis of potential control gaps and operational risks across Citi, leveraging data analysis to assess impact.
  8. Support stakeholders in developing corrective action plans to address control gaps or failures.
  9. Incorporate lessons learned into the development of corrective action plans, promoting continuous improvement and timely closure of issues.
  10. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  11. Partner with internal audit, business units, and senior management to communicate effectively, drive issue resolution, influence decision-making, and promote a risk-aware culture.
  12. Assess risk when making business decisions, considering the firm's reputation and safeguarding assets by driving compliance, applying ethical judgment, escalating and managing control issues transparently, supervising teams, and creating accountability.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or control-related functions in financial services.
  • Ability to identify, measure, and manage key risks and controls.
  • Strong knowledge in control development and execution.
  • Proven experience in control functions within the financial industry.
  • Experience in implementing sustainable solutions and process improvements.
  • Understanding of compliance laws, rules, regulations, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Citi’s Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating complex risk and control activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging at senior management levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Education:

Bachelor's/University degree required; Master's degree preferred.
