Job summary

Another Place, The Machrie on Islay is seeking a Seasonal Bar and Waiting Assistant for a part-time role (16 hours per week) through November. You will help deliver warm hospitality, take orders, serve drinks and food, and uphold high standards in a busy resort setting.

The position requires cash handling, teamwork with kitchen and bar colleagues, and a strong guest focus, with shifts likely in evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role preferred but not required.
• Excellent guest focus and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Greet guests and provide attentive service throughout dining experience.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and promptly.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff for timely order delivery.
• Serve food and drinks in a professional, courteous manner.
• Anticipate guests' needs and address requests promptly.
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately and securely.
• Maintain dining area cleanliness and reset tables efficiently.
