Job summary

Empower Talent is seeking a Project Engineer for an 18-month fixed term role on Islay, Scotland. You will own engineering and capital projects from concept to handover, working with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and EHS teams and external partners.

Experience delivering projects in manufacturing, process or industrial settings is preferred, with knowledge of budgeting, capital expenditure and drawings. APM or PMP qualifications are advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering engineering projects from concept to handover in manufacturing environments.
• Strong budgeting and cost-control capabilities for capital projects.
• Familiarity with capital expenditure processes and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and capital projects from concept through to completion and handover.
• Develop project scopes, specifications, schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers and third-party engineering partners.
• Work closely with operational teams to deliver projects safely while minimising disruption to production.
• Manage project costs, expenditure, forecasting and variations.
• Support the development and planning of future capital projects.
• Provide technical input, including interpreting drawings and preparing project documentation.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, risks and key milestones.
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with health & safety, engineering and quality standards.
