Job summary

Almac Group is seeking a Network Engineering Team Lead to provide technical leadership and coordinate the Network Engineering team. You will ensure reliable delivery and ongoing support of LAN, WAN, wireless, voice, and security services that underwrite our 24x7 operations.

Reporting to the UK Infrastructure Manager, you will act as senior escalation point, govern network tech, and drive modernisation and best practice across projects, changes and documentation within the IS group.

Qualifications

• 3 A-Levels (or equivalent) OR Previous relevant experience in an IS network infrastructure role.
• Significant experience in a busy IS network infrastructure environment in both project delivery and support scenarios.
• Experience providing technical guidance, mentoring or acting as an escalation point.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and day-to-day coordination of the Network Engineering team.
• Ensure reliable delivery, support and continuous improvement of LAN, WAN, wireless, voice and network security services for 24x7 operations.

The Opportunity

The Network Engineering Team Lead provides technical leadership and day-to-day coordination of the Network Engineering team, ensuring the reliable delivery, support and continuous improvement of the Group's LAN, WAN, wireless, voice and network security services that support critical 24x7 business operations.

Reporting to the UK Infrastructure Manager, the role serves as the senior technical escalation point for network operations and projects, ensuring services remain secure, resilient and aligned with business requirements. The Team Lead is responsible for the governance of key network technologies and the promotion of best practice in service delivery, network security, change management, documentation and operational support.

Working closely with IS Management, business stakeholders, vendors and the wider Infrastructure team, the post holder will drive network modernisation, technical debt reduction and the adoption of new technologies, while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
