Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an IR and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory Modality Manager at Bedford Hospital. You will lead interventional radiology and catheter lab services, providing clinical leadership and coordinating cross‑site operations.

Applicants should have senior radiography experience, postgraduate training, and HCPC registration. The role offers development opportunities and flexible working within a supportive NHS environment.

Qualifications

• Essential criteria: BSc Radiography (Hons) or Diploma of College of Radiographers (or equivalent) and HCPC Registered.
• Postgraduate training at MSc level or equivalent.
• Radiation Protection Supervisor experience/certificate.
• Certificate in cannulation.
• Desirable criteria: management or leadership qualification; reporting qualification/experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and development of Interventional Radiology services across both hospital sites and the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory.
• Provide operational, professional and clinical leadership for safe, patient‑centred care.
• Interact with radiologists, cardiologists, nurses and staff to support service development.
• Organise staff rotation and allocate 0.4 wte admin and 0.6 wte clinical time.
• Provide oversight for Lead Radiographer at the Luton Cardiac Centre and supervise junior staff.
