Job summary

Intuitive Thinking Skills is recruiting an IPS Employment Specialist on a 12 month fixed-term maternity contract. You will manage a caseload of up to 25 people in community treatment services, delivering high-quality IPS employment support with regular 1-2-1 sessions in the community.

You will work with clinicians and local employers to secure paid employment and provide ongoing in-work support, including coordinating with treatment teams and ensuring smooth return-to-work processes.

Qualifications

• Experience or understanding of working with people with drug and alcohol recovery.
• Experience of working with people on a one-to-one basis, offering motivation and support.
• Empathy with those with drug and alcohol recovery needs.
• The ability to build good relationships with referral partners, employers and service users.
• The ability to demonstrate resilience and adaptability.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
• A passion for making a difference to people’s lives.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of around 25 people in drug and alcohol treatment services who wish to return to paid employment.
• Build effective working relationships with local employers and training providers to secure opportunities.
• Provide job development and job search activities aligned to individual interests and IPS principles.
• Provide ongoing support to help clients retain employment after securing it.
• Promote the profile of employment within the clinical team to raise expectations.
• Work with clinicians to ensure clients receive appropriate support during the return to work process.
