Job summary

LGPS Central is seeking an Investment Operations Manager to work closely with the Director of Investment Operations. The role ensures efficient delivery of operational activities supporting LGPS Central’s investment functions, overseeing outsourced vendors and back-office processes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in middle and back-office operations within asset management.
• Strong knowledge of asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Private Equity/Debt, and Property.
• Understanding of Transfer Agency, Fund Accounting, Custody, and Depositary functions.

Responsibilities

• Support Investment Operations in delivering operational targets for assets managed by LGPS Central Limited.
• Oversee middle and back-office functions with compliance to policies and regulations.
• Escalate operational matters with timely, transparent communication to senior management.
• Manage relationships with outsourced vendors (Custodian, Fund Accountant, Transfer Agent, Middle Office).
• Participate in service reviews and oversight meetings to ensure SLA adherence and improvements.
• Contribute to design of operational frameworks for new funds, products, and assets.
• Maintain and update departmental procedures to reflect system/process changes.
• Identify and mitigate operational risk with robust controls and sign-off processes.
• Prepare management information and reports for senior management and governance committees.
• Promote a service quality mindset and recommend process improvements.
