Job summary

Columbia Threadneedle Investments is seeking a data engineer to shape data, analytics and reporting capabilities supporting oversight, research, portfolio construction and manager selection. You will partner with investment professionals to translate business needs into high‑quality data solutions and automated workflows.

You will contribute to data quality, backtesting, scenario analysis and dashboard development while strengthening governance and collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in data analytics, quantitative development or reporting within investment management or financial services.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or related quantitative field.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, R and SQL with experience using database platforms.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Analysts and investment professionals to translate analytical needs into data solutions and reporting.
• Source, validate and maintain investment data across platforms, ensuring quality and accessible feeds.
• Build and maintain quantitative models, analytical tools and performance attribution systems.
• Automate recurring analytical and reporting workflows for performance, risk metrics and dashboards.
• Design dashboards and data visualisations for decision-support across teams.
• Drive governance with documentation, version control and validation protocols.
