Investment Administrator - with fluent Japanese

Salary: up to £48,000 p.a.

Job Description

Working for a global asset manager in their Multi Asset Team, the role involves managing various portfolios including rules-based, passive, and trading based on investment advice or external instructions. Responsibilities include handling administrative tasks such as managing funds and mandates, conducting transactions across asset classes, monitoring cash flows, and maintaining relationships with brokers, custodians, and clients. The role requires diligence, market knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Investment Operations:
    • Prepare transactions and investment plans according to guidelines and contracts.
    • Conduct transactions in currency, fixed income, equity, and derivatives.
    • Monitor cash flows, provide investment ideas, and implement decisions.
    • Coordinate with internal and external parties to settle transactions.
  2. Reporting:
    • Produce reports as required and assist in client inquiries and reporting to Tokyo Head Office.
  3. Relationship Management:
    • Maintain relationships with brokers, custodians, trustees, and investors.
    • Support team knowledge and skill development.
  4. Other Duties:
    • Adhere to MUFG: AM (UK) rules and policies.
    • Comply with relevant laws and regulations, and pursue ongoing training.
Qualifications and Skills
  • At least 2 years of investment or financial services experience.
  • Fluent in Japanese.
  • Proficient in Dimension, Bloomberg, Excel.
  • Strong market knowledge and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to plan and deliver impactful communications.
  • Degree qualification preferred.
