Job summary

Staffordshire Police are seeking a Police Staff Investigator via Adecco for a temporary agency assignment based in Burton upon Trent. You will manage criminal investigations, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects, producing detailed case files for proceedings. The role is full-time, hybrid, with a 37-hour week and January 2028 end date.

You will liaise with partner agencies, maintain records, and contribute to positive outcomes for victims and the community.

Qualifications

• PIP1 or PIP2 accreditation.
• Experience in police investigations or a similar environment.
• Experience interviewing victims, witnesses or suspects.
• Knowledge of criminal law and justice processes.
• Proven ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
• Strong written reporting and case file quality.

About the Role

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience within a police investigation unit.

• Previous investigative experience within policing, law enforcement, or similar environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven experience in managing workloads and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to produce high-quality written reports and case files.
• A strong victim-focused approach.
• Capacity to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
