Job summary

South Staffordshire Water is seeking an Inventory Assistant to maintain accurate stock records and support stock control across our sites. You will work closely with operational teams, suppliers and procurement to ensure timely deliveries and accurate data.

In this role you will receive, record and monitor stock, raise requisitions, assist with stock takes and audits, and resolve discrepancies. A full UK driving licence is required for site visits.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores, warehouse, stock control or inventory environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and work to a high level of accuracy.
• Good IT skills and confidence using inventory/stock management systems.
• Strong communication skills with both operational and office-based colleagues.
• Ability to work independently whilst contributing to a wider team.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check and record stock deliveries.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock traceability.
• Monitor stock levels and support replenishment activities.
• Raise purchase requisitions and support purchasing processes.
• Assist with stock takes, cycle counts and inventory audits.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries and stock queries.
• Support Inventory and Procurement teams with administrative activities.
• Ensure inventory data is maintained accurately within business systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across inventory processes.
