Qualifications

  • Diploma/NVQ3 IT or ECDL, or equivalent experience with IMS/procurement systems.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of inventory management systems.
  • Computer literate with MS Office and basic scheduling/ordering tools.
  • Experience of working in the NHS and awareness of current issues.

Job overview

The Inventory Management Deployment Officer will be responsible for supporting the maintenance of the system and associated catalogues, in addition to implementing the solution into new areas, both for stock control and patient scanning, in liaison with the Scan4Safety Systems Manager.

The role will be specific to The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust (DGFT), however, will be part of the wider DGFT and Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust Group Scan4Safety team.

Main duties of the job

The role is required to Support Head of Local Delivery & Group Scan4Safety Systems Manager in the daily maintenance, accuracy and integrity of the Trust’s IMS system. It involves w orking closely with and under the supervision of the Head of Local Delivery & Group Scan4Safety Systems Manager and NHS Supply Chain colleagues to work collaboratively with Trust stakeholders to manage the development and maintenance of catalogues to support the IMS deployment. To s upport the Head of Local Delivery with all process and business documentation for the IMS solution and be r esponsible for the accuracy and integrity of the Trust’s IMS data, liaising with suppliers and customers as required, including t aking an active role in the IMS deployment project, managing key project tasks. To s upport departments relevant to the IMS with actions required for deployment, including stock checking, system training and post-implementation support. As well as to c onduct materials management duties for areas as needed, utilising the IMS technology to check stock levels and re-order goods, as well as to p ut away stock into storerooms as required, ensuring the Trust’s standardised ward stock process is followed.

E ngagement of stakeholders such as NHS Supply Chain and the IMS supplier to optimise the project delivery and w ork with the Group Scan4Safety Systems Manager, providing them with support as needed in the effective management of the IMS programme.

Qualifications and Education
  • Diploma/NVQ3 IT information/ ECDL (European Computer Driving License or relevant experience with IMS / procurement systems.
Experience
  • Can manage multiple projects simultaneously, can prioritise well and enjoys working on complex projects
  • Understanding of inventory management systems
  • Computer literate and detailed knowledge of basic computer packages e.g. Microsoft Office, Internet and Access based equipment scheduling and ordering systems
  • Ability to produce reports from the IMS system
  • Experience of working within the NHS and an understanding of current issues
Knowledge and Training
  • Experience of project management activity
  • Knowledge of additional procurement systems
