Job summary

Polytec Personnel Ltd based in Cambridge, UK, is seeking a Stores Operative on a temporary basis until 31 December 2026. The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours between 8am and 6pm.

Salary is £13.85–£14.87 per hour. You will be responsible for receipt, storage, inventory control and dispatch of components and finished goods, maintaining accurate records and supporting internal teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, stores or logistics environments.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate record-keeping.
• Good communication and collaborative skills.
• Proactive, reliable team player with willingness to learn.
• Familiarity with inventory/ERP systems; SAP beneficial.
• Understanding of logistics, courier coordination and warehouse safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage receipt, inspection, storage and recording of incoming goods.
• Pick, kit and issue components for production orders and internal requests.
• Prepare and dispatch customer and internal shipments with packing, labeling and courier arrangements.
• Process returned goods and other incoming materials while updating records.
