Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is hiring an Inventory Controller (Band 3) based at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester. The role ensures timely access to products and supplies to support patient care using inventory systems and barcode technology.

The post involves stock replenishment, ordering, receipt, storage, distribution, and strict record-keeping in line with Trust procedures. Weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Attainment of CIPS certificate or foundation level qualifications or NVQ level 3 in supply chain or equivalent training and/or proven professional experience
• Forklift truck training is required
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Full driving licence held

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day inventory services within designated areas to ensure timely access to products and supplies for patient care
• Utilise inventory management systems and barcode technology for stock replenishment, ordering, receipt, storage and distribution
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Trust procedures
• Work flexibly across locations; may include weekends/bank holidays
