We are currently looking for an energetic Inventory Controller to join our fantastic team in Wellingborough (NN8 6BS).

The position holder will enhance Yusen operations at a multi-contract site by ensuring stock integrity and meeting key performance indicators (KPIs). They will also provide operational support during holidays, absences, and peak volumes.

You will be working Monday to Friday from 2pm to 10pm.

This role will offer a salary of £27,012.24 and a shift allowance of £800 per annum.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all perpetual cycle counting activities meet established standards, investigate and reconcile discrepancies promptly, and achieve all stock-related KPIs.

Assist with formal stock takes according to procedures, alerting the Line Manager of any deadlines that cannot be met. Monitor inventory levels, deliveries, and shortages, documenting damaged or obsolete inventory.

Maintain stock records and product articles in the Warehouse Management System (WMS), creating new locations as needed, and assisting with stock check and dispatch queries. Use inventory management software to track trends.

Adhere to all operational processes, including Health & Safety (H&S), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Work Instructions (WI), ensuring timely completion of management and customer reports.

Perform additional tasks as assigned by the inventory supervisor and implement effective inventory control procedures. Promote continuous improvement through KAIZEN activities and quality management systems.

Build strong relationships with colleagues and customers, utilizing good communication skills to resolve queries promptly and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Skills And Experience

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with essential skills in Excel
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); knowledge of AS/400 Opus and SAP is advantageous
• Ability to effectively identify and resolve problems
• Previous experience in inventory or stock control
• This role will require the use of Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
• Experience working in a high-volume or fast-paced environment
• Target-driven with a strong desire to succeed
• Eager to learn and develop personally and professionally
• Strong teamwork skills
• Confident, well-organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently
