Job summary

Yusen Logistics is seeking a highly motivated Inventory Controller based at our SDC site in Northampton (NN7 2FR). This role supports stock integrity, KPI targets, and customer service while performing cycle counts, stock takes, and warehouse location setup.

The candidate should have essential inventory/stock control experience, knowledge of warehouse operations, and a proactive improvement mindset. The shift is 14:00–22:00 with a salary of £32,142.36 per annum plus benefits and a 25-day holiday

• Knowledge / operational experience of WMS (Manhattan Active highly desirable)
• Awareness of KAIZEN principles
• A continuous improvement mindset
• Proven experience of implementing improvement initiatives
• Excellent communication skills
• Accurate attention to detail and numeracy literate
• PC literate with intermediate knowledge of Excel

Responsibilities

• Ensure all required perpetual cycle counting activities are carried out to the required standard
• Investigate discrepancies and reconcile according to procedures
• Assist with formal stock takes and set up / maintenance of stock files
• Set up and maintenance of warehouse locations and stock files
• Assist on relocation of designated areas within the warehouse
• Ensure stock related KPI's are met and weekly/monthly reports completed
• Identify areas for process improvements to drive efficiency

Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused Inventory Controller to be based at our SDC site in Northampton (NN7 2FR). As an Inventory Controller you will support and improve the Yusen operation for our customer. Assisting with stock integrity within the contract, ensuring all stocks are accounted for and KPI's are met.,

• Ensure all required perpetual cycle counting activities are carried out to the required standard
• Ensure all discrepancies are investigated and reconciled in accordance with established procedures, highlighting any areas of concern in a timely manner
• Assist with formal stock takes on behalf of the contract in accordance with procedures
• Conduct accurate pallet checks
• Investigate customer queries, resolving them within a reasonable period to customer satisfaction levels
• Set up and continual maintenance of all stock files
• Set up of warehouse locations
• Assist on the relocation of designated areas within the warehouse
• Adhere to deadlines, or escrow issue to Line Management where these cannot be met
• Adhere to Company procedures & policy
• Ensure all stock related KPI's are met
• Ensure all weekly and monthly reports are completed accurately and to deadlines (cycle counts, stock discrepancies)
• Continuously look to improve processes and procedures to drive efficiency and improvement in business operation and customer service
• Develop other logistics revenue opportunities with the customer
• Closely analyse, promote, and identify areas for improvement within Yusen's quality management system
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to, including PPE, taking appropriate action where procedures are not being adhered to or could be improved
• Ensure all equipment checks are carried out in accordance with procedure, taking appropriate action to ensure a safe working environment for all employees
• Maintain and update site Risk Assessments, Safe, System of Work and working instructions, In Yusen Logistics, we understand the value of utilising AI and other technologies to support the application process but we encourage the candidates to use them to enhance their application and not replace their own effort and authenticity. • The shift pattern for this role is Monday - Friday, 14:00 - 22:00) and we offer a salary of £32,142.36 per annum, with shift allowance of £832 per annum., 25 days holiday
