Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking an Inventory Control Leader for our Blyth site (S81 8PU). The role is full-time on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern (07:00–17:00 and 13:00–23:00).

You will oversee stock and systems support, guiding the operational team to deliver accurate inventory results. Key tasks include coordinating warehouse activities, resolving stock and system issues as a Super User, and driving improvements in stock accuracy and processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory and stock processes within a warehouse.
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (JDA/Red Prairie desirable).
• Strong MS Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, supervise and report on warehouse operatives' work to enable effective leadership and training.
• Process stock orders and load planning using the Warehouse Management System.
• Be the point of contact for systems and stock issues as a Super User.
• Investigate stock discrepancies and implement preventative measures and best practices.

If yes, we may have the role for you!GX are looking for an Inventory Control Leader to join our B&Q site in Blyth – S81 8PU. In this key role, you’ll be the subject matter expert for all things stock and systems, supporting the first line managers and wider operational team to deliver outstanding results.This is a full time, permanent position, where you will be working on a ’4 on, 4 off’ shift pattern. The hours of work will rotate every four between 07:00 – 17:00 and 13:00 – 23:00.

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £32,000 per annum. What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Plan, co-ordinate, supervise and report upon the work activities of the warehouse operatives, enabling the FLM’s to provide effective communication, leadership, succession planning, motivation and training & development
• Process stock orders, load planning, and various stock handling duties using the Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), following the correct procedures
• Be the point of contact for any systems and stock issues, finding resolutions as a Super User
• Investigate all stock discrepancies and establish preventative measures and best practises

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Experience of inventory and stock processes within a warehouse environment
• Previous experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (JDA / Red Prairie highly desirable)
• A good knowledge of MS Excel, to include pivot tables and v look ups
• Effective communication, problem solving and time management skills
• Able to be a team player or work independently, with the flexibility to be ‘hands on’ when required
