Job summary

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Interventional Radiology (IR) department has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Specialist Nurse to join a newly developed IR CNS Service, to work alongside the Band 7 CNS team for the general and neuro IR service. This role provides expert nursing support to patients undergoing complex IR procedures.

You will support the IR clinical team in delivering outpatient clinics for patients in the pre-assessment, procedural and post procedure phase.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Portfolio of certified / accredited post registration professional development.

Responsibilities

• Attend ward rounds and clinics, MDT meetings, and provide education and reassurance to patients.
• Maintain continuity of care and contribute to overall service development.
• Liaise with multiple specialties to ensure continuity of care throughout the patient journey.
• Attend pre-assessment, procedural and post-procedure clinics and follow-up appointments.
• Coordinate care plans and contribute to patient records and communications.
• Support and enable teamwork and participate in audits/research.
