Job summary

The Royal Cornwall Hospital is currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Radiographer to join our Interventional Radiology team. Dependent on experience the successful candidate may initially start as a Band 5 Trainee IR Radiographer, with an accelerated pathway for Band 5 to Band 6 progression and comprehensive training in IR.

This post offers a 0.5 WTE, 18.75 hours per week, with duties spanning 7-day and out-of-hours IR service, working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver

Qualifications

• DCR(R) or BSc Hons (Radiography) in Diagnostic Imaging. Current state registration through HCPC.
• Portfolio evidence of CPD and ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
• Experience in Interventional Radiology and trauma/general radiography.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of a wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures in the IR theatre suite and related labs.
• Work with IR Team Leader and Advanced Practitioner Radiographers to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Provide 7-day and out-of-hours IR service including on-call; act as shift co-ordinator when needed.
• Prioritise workload, manage workflow and resources to maintain high standards of patient care.
• Comply with IRR/IR(ME)R regulations and Radiation Safety Policy; liaise with Consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
