Job description

Job title: Intervention Teaching Assistant

Location: Westbourne School, Sutton in Ashfield, NG17 2EL

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: GBP20,906.25 per annum

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an Intervention Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team at Westbourne School, part of Acorn Education.

About the Role
  1. To ensure provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students.
  2. To contribute to meeting aims and targets of pupils' EHCPs.
  3. To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
  4. To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
  5. To develop and enhance the teaching practice of others in relation to supporting literacy in the classroom.
  6. To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students in terms of Teaching/Instructing.
  7. To undertake an appropriate programme of support and intervention in accordance with the duties of a support worker as outlined in the generic job description.
  8. To plan and deliver literacy/numeracy/intervention lessons that are differentiated to meet the needs of each pupil. Lessons will be 1:1 and can be full class groups where appropriate.
  9. To effectively assess the progress made by the pupils during these lessons and use this to plan the pupils' next steps to ensure good progress is made.
Teaching/Instructing

Qualifications Required
  • Maths and English Level 2 or GCSE grade 4.
