Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group in Derby is seeking a hands-on Site Supervisor with a strong carpentry background to lead an internal fit-out project.

You will supervise day-to-day site activities, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure build quality and safety on site. The role requires carpentry skills, CSCS card, SSSTS/SMSTS, and the ability to read drawings; available to start immediately. The Derby-based project runs for approximately 10 weeks with a market-leading interiors contractor.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Supervisor or similar supervisory role.
• Strong carpentry background with hands-on on-site work.
• Experience on commercial/retail or internal fit-out projects.
• Valid CSCS card appropriate to role.
• SSSTS or SMSTS certification is essential depending on responsibility.
• First Aid qualification would be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of health and safety requirements and site procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Proactive hands-on approach that leads by example.

Fawkes & Reece are working with a market-leading interiors company who are looking to recruit a hands-on Site Supervisor with a strong carpentry background for an internal fit-out project in Derby.

The company specialises in delivering high-quality interiors across a variety of sectors, including retail, commercial, food and leisure. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supervisor who enjoys being hands-on on site while overseeing the day-to-day delivery of a project.

The Role

• Supervising and coordinating day-to-day site activities on an internal fit-out project.
• Taking a hands-on approach to site work, utilising your strong carpentry skills where required.
• Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.

Skills and Qualifications Required

• Proven experience as a Site Supervisor, Foreman or in a similar supervisory role within the construction or fit-out sector.
• A strong carpentry background, with the ability to carry out hands-on work when required.
• Previous experience working on commercial, retail or other internal fit-out projects.
• Valid CSCS card appropriate to the role.
• SSSTS or SMSTS certification (essential, depending on the level of responsibility).
• First Aid qualification would be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of construction health and safety requirements and site procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
• The ability to coordinate subcontractors, manage workloads and maintain programme deadlines.
