Job summary

Dunelm seeks an experienced Internal Transport Manager to lead day-to-day operations within the Home Delivery Network in the UK. You will oversee transport planning, driver communications, compliance, and depot coordination, empowering your team to deliver excellence behind the scenes at every doorstep.

You’ll manage route planning, vehicle scheduling, and driver workloads while ensuring health and safety, legal compliance, and high service standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a CPC qualification and demonstrate transport compliance know-how.
• IOSH qualification is desirable to enhance safety and risk management.
• Proven leadership and experience in transport or logistics management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the transport team, including drivers and clerks.
• Oversee route planning, vehicle scheduling, and driver workloads.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, legal, and company standards.
• Handle customer service escalations and work with depot teams.
• Monitor performance, identify improvements, and drive results.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of transport colleagues.
• Oversee daily transport operations and ensure timely, safe deliveries.

Overview

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Internal Transport Manager to lead day-to-day operations within our Home Delivery Network. This is a key role in keeping our deliveries smooth, our teams supported, and our customers happy, because when things run well behind the scenes, it shows up in every doorstep experience.

You’ll be responsible for managing transport planning, driver communications, compliance, and depot coordination all while keeping a cool head and a clear focus. It’s a fast-paced environment, but you’ll have the autonomy to make decisions, solve problems, and help your team thrive.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading and supporting the transport team, including drivers and clerks
• Managing route planning, vehicle scheduling, and driver workloads
• Ensuring full compliance with health & safety, legal, and company standards
• Handling customer service escalations and working closely with depot teams
• Monitoring performance, identifying improvements, and driving results
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and training of transport colleagues
• Overseeing daily transport operations and ensuring timely, safe deliveries
