Job summary

Bridgewater Resources UK Ltd in Birmingham is seeking an Internal Sales Manager to lead and develop the internal sales team, drive sales and profitability, and grow existing contractor accounts. The role collaborates with the external sales team to maximise turnover and margin while delivering excellent customer service.

You will coach the team, manage quotes and orders, and work with purchasing and warehouse to ensure reliable service and performance against KPIs.

Qualifications

• To be successful in this Internal Sales Manager, you should have previous electrical wholesale experience and a good understanding of the products, customers and commercial environment.
• Commercially minded with a strong understanding of sales, margin and profitability.
• A proactive sales professional who actively looks for opportunities to grow accounts.
• Well connected within the electrical contracting market.
• An experienced team leader who can motivate and develop others.
• Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
• Organised, confident and able to lead by example.
• Comfortable working towards targets and taking ownership of results.

Responsibilities

• Leading, motivating and developing the internal sales team.
• Driving sales, gross profit and margin.
• Developing existing customer accounts (predominantly contractors) and identifying new opportunities.
• Ensuring quotes are followed up and converted into orders.
• Working closely with the external sales team to grow customer accounts.
• Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Handling and resolving customer issues.
• Monitoring team performance against targets and KPIs.
• Coaching the team to improve sales skills, product knowledge and customer service.
• Making sure enquiries, quotations and orders are dealt with quickly and accurately.
• Working closely with purchasing, warehouse and operations to deliver a reliable service.
