Job summary

Acis Group is seeking an Internal Quality Assurer to uphold high standards across programmes. You will sample learner work, review assessor feedback, and perform QA checks to demonstrate compliance with awarding bodies and regulatory requirements.

The role involves coaching assessors, coordinating standardisation sessions, and monitoring learner progress. You’ll collaborate with curriculum teams to promote consistency and excellence in assessment and quality assurance practices.

Qualifications

  • Must have teaching background with experience in IQA
  • Qualified IQA Level 4 or working towards it
  • Experience as an assessor for vocational achievements is preferred
  • Strong planning, organisation and monitoring abilities
  • Excellent communication and IT skills across MS Office and LMS tools

Responsibilities

  • Sampling learners' completed work to ensure fair and consistent assessment decisions
  • Reviewing assessors' feedback against awarding organisation requirements
  • Conducting QA checks and maintaining audit trails for compliance
  • Providing coaching and developmental feedback to assessors
  • Leading standardisation meetings to align assessment criteria
  • Monitoring learner progress and data, identifying trends and interventions
  • Preparing for External Quality Assurance visits and documenting readiness
  • Updating QA records and action plans

Job description

As an Internal Quality Assurer, a typical day might include:


  • Sampling learners completed work to ensure assessment decisions are accurate, fair and consistent.

  • Reviewing assessors' feedback and assessment practices against awarding organisation and regulatory requirements.

  • Conducting quality assurance checks and maintaining audit trails to demonstrate compliance.

  • Providing guidance, coaching and developmental feedback to assessors to support continuous improvement.

  • Holding standardisation meetings to ensure all assessors apply assessment criteria consistently.

  • Monitoring learner progress and achievement data, identifying trends or areas requiring intervention.

  • Preparing for External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits and ensuring all required documentation is available and up to date.

  • Investigating and resolving quality concerns, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.

  • Involved in valuable initial assessments in order to make sure the learners are registered on the right course.

  • Updating quality assurance records, reports and action plans.

  • Working closely with assessors and curriculum teams to promote high standards of teaching, learning and assessment across programmes.

  • Supporting the Quality and Compliance Manager in maintaining our quality and achievement tracking and monitoring systems, preparing regular quality reports, highlighting current position and leading on actions identified.

  • Work with teams to share best practice, develop improvements, and maintain strong outcomes.

  • Working as part of the wider quality team to ensure all tasks are covered in line with timescales as required.


This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, and a proactive approach to


maintaining high-quality standards and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be expected to work across multiple


Acis Group sites, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to promote consistency and excellence in assessment and quality


assurance practices.


Some of the experience/skills we need to consider you:


  • Teaching qualification or relevant equivalent qualification with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience.

  • Recognised industry qualification

  • Qualified IQA Level 4, or working towards

  • Qualified Assessor for example Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.

  • An organised individual who can plan and monitor a varied workload

  • Strong people skills which encourages others to work collaboratively

  • Strong literacy skills with the ability to write clearly and effectively

  • A flexible approach to work and the ability to meet challenges and adapt to change

  • Being self-motivated, resilient, with a drive and determination to achieve results

  • General awareness of health and safety and building management

  • Are comfortable with, and can engage with people both 1-2-1 and in groups

  • Strong IT skills, across multiple platforms, with an indepth knowledge of office tools, with an eye for detail that’s second to none.

  • Strong communicator with excellent customer service experience and skills

  • Ability to work as a team, under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, whether in the same team or external support providers

  • You’re a positive, energised and enthusiastic person, with a real zest for helping others

  • Planning and coordinating is what gets you up every day

  • Experience in contributing to quality development initiatives.

  • Experience of developing QIP action plans, and delivering standardisation sessions to support

  • Experience of organising enhancement activities to support learner achievement
