ICAEW in Birmingham is seeking an ambitious Internal Audit Assistant Manager to join our new office and help shape its success. You'll work on a mix of public sector and corporate audits, supporting the Internal Audit Director and developing the team.

The role offers a people-focused, collaborative environment with opportunities to coach staff, manage engagements, monitor budgets, and contribute to business development while maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

• CIA/ACA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience managing a broad portfolio of audit clients across public sector, not-for-profit and corporate sectors.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills with ability to develop staff and recruit where needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan and deliver internal audit engagements across public sector and corporate clients.
• Coach and mentor staff to develop risk and control expertise and business advisory skills.
• Monitor engagement budgets and fees, manage client relationships and set expectations.
• Contribute to business development in sectors you operate in.
