Job summary

Greene King is seeking an Internal Audit Manager to function as an independent assurance unit reporting to the Executive Board. The role conducts risk-based third line audits, supports the IA head, mentors junior auditors, and ensures high-quality assurance across the organisation.

The successful candidate will have IA qualifications (IIA or equivalent), an accounting qualification, and strong governance, risk, and communication skills, with experience in major transformation programmes and ESG

Qualifications

• Audit qualification, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) or equivalent.
• Accountancy qualification or experience working within a finance dept and of financial controls would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Corporate Governance requirements and FRC UK Corporate code.
• Knowledge of Risk Management frameworks.
• Experience of auditing major transformation programmes would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of ESG and emerging governance frameworks would be an advantage.
• Strong Word and Excel skills.
• Proven ability to manage and support junior auditors.
• Clear communicator to all levels of the business structure.
• An enquiring mind, comfortable challenging management and questioning assumptions.
• Ability to work as a member of a team and as an individual.
• Professionalism at all times maintaining integrity and independence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as independent assurance function within Greene King.
• Conduct risk-based third line audits across all areas.
• Support Head of IA and mentor junior Auditors.
• Delivery of the Audit Plan including test planning and close-out meetings.
• Provide independent advice on best practice to the business.
• Review and report on the effectiveness of policies, procedures and controls.
• Maintain GK assurance map and monitor management's response.
• Communicate findings to stakeholders including executives and SLT.
