Job summary

Freightliner Ltd, a leading UK intermodal logistics provider, seeks a Train Driver committed to safety and regulatory standards. You will drive in accordance with Rules & Regulations, Competency Based Standards and Freightliner’s Defensive Driving Policy, reporting for duty, maintaining knowledge of traction, routes and notices.

Qualifications

• Physically fit to carry out Train Driving duties.
• Ability to absorb and retain knowledge of traction, routes, rules and publications.
• Demonstrate vigilance in observing signals and report abnormalities.
• Capable of adjusting driving technique to suit weather and rail conditions.
• Wear required uniform and safety clothing at all times.

Responsibilities

• Attend and report for duty on time as directed.
• Safe unsupervised movement of traction.
• Absorb routes, rules, regulations and notices.
• Monitor signals and report irregularities to the Signalman.
• Follow emergency procedures when required and report incidents.
• Maintain and update Route Knowledge publications.
• Undertake other duties as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
