Responsibilities

• Attend and report for duty at the time and place directed.
• Carry out unsupervised safe movement of traction.
• Absorb and retain knowledge of traction, routes, rules and regulations.
• Adjust driving technique for weather and rail conditions.
• Observe signals and report irregularities to the signalman.
• Explain delays to relevant people to keep information up to date.
• Report safety incidents to the controlling signalman and action necessary.
• Carry out emergency procedures including HABD examinations.
