Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer - Building Services

A well-established Nottingham-based MEP consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team.

With nearly 50 years of industry experience, this company offers long-standing client relationships and a reliable stream of high-value projects (up to 35m) across leisure, custodial, and healthcare sectors. The firm champions a collaborative, client-facing approach, ensuring engineers are involved from initial survey through to handover - providing genuine end-to-end project ownership.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Designing and developing electrical systems for a wide range of building services projects

• Preparing calculations, specifications, and tender documentation

• Coordinating with mechanical and sustainability engineers to develop low-energy solutions

• Attending site and design team meetings, liaising with clients and contractors

• Overseeing projects through RIBA stages 2-5

• Supporting junior staff and promoting best practices

What You'll Need:

• 4+ years' experience in electrical building services design

• Background in consultancy or contractor environment

• Strong knowledge of current electrical standards and codes

• Experience using design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software

• Confident communicator with a proactive and hands-on attitude
