Job summary

CIBSE Journal is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to deliver mechanical design for building services projects across sectors, with a focus on sustainability and low‑carbon design.

You will support RIBA stages from concept to detailed design, produce calculations and reports, and collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years' experience in building services / MEP consultancy.
• Experience in mechanical design (HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation).
• Working knowledge of UK building regulations and standards.
• Familiarity with Revit, IES or similar design tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team.
• Desire to progress and work towards chartership (CIBSE/IMechE).

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design across building services projects.
