Job summary

My client, a specialist MEP engineering consultancy in London, seeks an Intermediate Electrical Engineer with ~2 years post-graduate experience. You will contribute to electrical building services designs across RIBA Stages 2-4 and develop client-facing consultancy skills.

From day one you will work with Directors and senior engineers, taking increasing ownership of technical deliverables while collaborating with engineers, architects, contractors and clients to deliver robust engineering

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Around 2 years post-graduate experience in building services or MEP consultancy.
• Technically strong with a genuine interest in engineering.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Willing to develop beyond pure electrical design.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of electrical building services designs across RIBA Stages 2-4.
• Produce electrical calculations, specifications, drawings and documentation.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary MEP design projects across sectors.
• Assist with design reviews, coordination and problem solving.
• Support senior engineers and Directors with client-facing project work.
• Develop understanding of wider consultancy services (design management, technical due diligence and construction monitoring).
• Take increasing ownership of technical deliverables and project responsibilities.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, project managers and clients.

My client is a specialist MEP engineering consultancy based in Farringdon, London. Established in 2020, they have grown rapidly through repeat business by providing technically strong and commercially pragmatic engineering advice across the built environment.

They work across commercial, student accommodation, education, health diagnostics and scalable multi-site real estate projects. Their services include MEP design, technical due diligence, design management, construction monitoring and landlord & tenant advisory services.

The Opportunity

You will be an Intermediate Electrical Engineer with around 2 years' post-graduate experience, to be considered for this role.

This is an opportunity for you to develop beyond traditional design work and gain genuine exposure to clients, senior decision-making and the wider commercial side of engineering consultancy.

You will work closely with Directors and senior engineers from day one, taking increasing ownership of your work while developing your technical and consultancy skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

About You

My client is looking for an Electrical Engineer who is:

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Around 2 years post‑graduation experience, ideally within building services or MEP consultancy.
• Technically strong with a genuine interest in engineering.
• Naturally curious and keen to understand how systems and buildings work.
• A confident communicator who can engage with clients and wider project teams.
• Commercially aware and interested in the broader consultancy side of engineering.
