Day-to-Day
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop coordinated designs.
- Producing detailed electrical designs and calculations for building services systems.
- Attending project meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss progress and technical solutions.
- Conducting site visits to review installations and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Supporting junior team members with technical guidance and mentoring.
- Researching and implementing sustainable engineering practices in your designs.
- Managing project deadlines and ensuring deliverables are met to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Designing electrical building services systems for a variety of sectors.
- Producing detailed technical designs and documentation to a high standard.
- Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver coordinated designs.
- Attending client and design team meetings to provide technical input and updates.
- Conducting site visits to monitor installation progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Supporting and mentoring graduate engineers in their technical development.
- Developing practical, sustainable, and energy-efficient engineering solutions.
- Managing your workload effectively across multiple projects.
- Working under the guidance of Senior and Principal Engineers while developing greater autonomy.
Qualifications
- A relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in electrical building services design within a UK-based MEP consultancy.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and building services systems.
- Proficiency in design software such as Revit, ProDesign, and Bluebeam (desirable).
- A keen interest in sustainable engineering and low-energy building design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
- Working towards chartership or ready to begin the process.
