Job summary

Penguin Recruitment in London is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Intermediate-Level) to join a forward-thinking MEP consultancy. The role offers exposure to multidisciplinary teams and a path toward chartership, with a salary of £45,000–£55,000 DOE.

You will produce electrical designs, perform calculations, attend client meetings, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to sustainable building services across sectors.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience in electrical building services design within a UK-based MEP consultancy.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and building services systems.
• Proficiency in design software such as Revit, ProDesign and Bluebeam is desirable.
• Willingness to progress towards chartership.

Responsibilities

• Designing electrical building services systems for varied sectors.
• Producing detailed electrical designs and calculations to a high standard.
• Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, clients and stakeholders to deliver coordinated designs.
• Attending client and design team meetings to provide technical input.
• Conducting site visits to review installations and ensure conformance with design specifications.

Day-to-Day

• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop coordinated designs.
• Producing detailed electrical designs and calculations for building services systems.
• Attending project meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss progress and technical solutions.
• Conducting site visits to review installations and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Supporting junior team members with technical guidance and mentoring.
