Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in Birmingham is seeking an Intermediate to Associate Director Building Surveyor to join our growing team. You will work across a varied project portfolio, taking on greater responsibility and helping to develop client relationships within retail, residential, education and public sectors.

You'll contribute technically, manage projects from inception to completion, and mentor junior colleagues while playing a part in business development to support the Birmingham office's

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent.
• MRICS qualification or working towards chartership for junior levels.
• Experience in a consultancy environment.
• Strong technical Building Surveying knowledge.
• Experience across professional and/or project-based surveying.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Commercial mindset and developing new opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Building and condition surveys, defect diagnosis and technical reporting.
• Planned maintenance, refurbishment and project consultancy.
• Contract administration and project management.
• Dilapidations and schedules of condition.
• Employer's Agent and technical advisory services.
• Party Wall and other professional surveying instructions.
• Preparing specifications, tender documents and contract documentation.
• Managing projects from inception through to completion.
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
• At Associate Director level, contributing to business development and growth of the Birmingham office.

Are you a Building Surveyor looking for a role where you can take on more responsibility, work across a varied project portfolio and have a genuine opportunity to progress your career?

We're working with an established and growing property and construction consultancy, who are looking to strengthen their Birmingham team and are looking for a Building Surveyor from Intermediate level through to Associate Director level.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop technically, take ownership of client relationships and play an important role in the continued growth of the Birmingham Building Surveying team.

The Role

Depending on your level of experience, you'll be involved across a broad range of professional and project-based Building Surveying work, working with a diverse client base across retail, residential, education, public sector and other property environments.

Your responsibilities could include:

• Building and condition surveys, defect diagnosis and technical reporting
• Planned maintenance, refurbishment and project consultancy
• Contract administration and project management
• Dilapidations and schedules of condition
